Number plates in the police spotlight

Illegal number plates have not been treated as a major offence in the past , more like a bit of harmless fun. Now that we have so many cameras in England watching our every move, especially when in our cars , the ability of cameras and the computers behind them to read the registration number correctly has become paramount. The vehicle’s number plates are now scrutinised for conformity during the mot test and vehicles with non complying plates are pulled over at ANPR checks set up for other offence detection
